While we were catching up on our RSS feed this morning, yes we still use them, we came across this stellar new poster design from the DDC. The poster collects together 100 of the DDCs logos into one amazingly cool poster. We need to get our hands on one of these.

What a nice shiny redesign for Warner Pacific College. These ui designs courtesy of Portland designer, Sam Bible. We like the comfortable feel of these digital environments and the solid organization of in page elements. The solid underpinning architecture makes content easy to find which is always a plus on sites with lots of content like this.

  • What the Internet is Doing to Our Brains

We just had a chance to check out this short animated film from Epipheo about what the internet is doing to our brains. This is a fun short, informative piece which makes sense. It reminds us of our coming across an image a few months ago that was taken from a page of Ben Franklin's personal calendar. After he had completed a long day or work he would take an hour or so to sit and contemplatively reflect on his day. Sounds to us like a good habit to develop — right after we finish this grumpy cat video.

  • W+K Raise the Bar on Old Spice Oddities

Wieden + Kennedy have just completed work on their newest commercials for Old Spice. With these two spots, the portland-based ad agency has managed to help take the men's fragrance company further out into left field making them even more memorable through a dissonance factor of 10. Terry Crews stars in the two humorous spots that feature the muscle-bound actor discovering his new muscle-bound son and shaving the beard off of a coma patient.

We had not come across illustrator, Lena Podesta's work before. When we did finally roll across it we were hooked. We really like the range of style in Lena's work. There's a retro, classic comic strip style in some of the pieces while others feel more contemporary and modern — a nice counterbalance that works for a variety of projects.
