Jessica Hische – From Berlin With Love from Gestalten on Vimeo.

We always love watching interviews or shorts about the work of lettering phenom, Jessica Hische. Gestalten.tv recently released this short four minute interview in which Hische talks a bit about her work and gives some insight into creating the letters B-E-R-L-I-N. I think this might be the first time we've seen an interview with here where she wasn't able to sneak an F-bomb in there. She's awesome.

  • Somersby Cider and the Somersby Store

Denmark-based brewer, Somersby Cider, has taken a shot at and parodied the Apple store in their new spot. They managed to appropriate much of the modern "techie" language spoken by the in the stores and re-purposed it to work for their brew. This is brilliant. We like that each table has an actual apple on it to give a nod to their cider and to the parodied computer giant.

Here's some nice work from local designer, Lotos Chen (we love that name), for modern stationer, Ecru. We love doing product photography as there are so many variables we can control vs. exterior photography and so many we can't. These shots look great and do a fantastic job of showcasing the variety of products in the Ecru line. You can check out more of Lotos Chen's (you just want to say her name over and over) work on her portfolio site.

  • Louis Vuitton Presents Check-In, Check-Out

Louis Vuitton is back with this short, 60's inspired film for their upcoming Spring line. The look of this video is completely retro and compliments the style of the new line perfectly. The short is all about the checkered pattern featured in the collection It starts with a semi-closeup of the checked bag pattern and through a series of pullbacks (all check themed) ends with an extreme closeup of the same bag pattern. We like the short quite a bit, but we were surprised by just how "Mad Men-esque" this line feels. It would fit perfectly into the coming season.

The second product in Google's April 1 release is Gmail Blue. How do you revolutionize email while leaving it exactly the same? Make it blue. The engineers over at Google have taken email to the next technological level by making everything... blue. Just brilliant.

  • The Dystopianest Dystopia Ever

the dystopianest dystopia ever from Jon Murray on Vimeo.

Here's an interesting look into the future of the human race. While we might be led to believe that we will meet our collective ends at the hands of a meteor, or an invading army of unibrowed aliens or even at the hands of our re-animated love ones, we apparently simply give in to the soft glow of our mobile devices. How anti-climactic is that? Yet, it's strangely logical, too. This short was written, directed and produced by freelance copywriter, Jon Murray. You can see a full credit list after the jump.

Ah, April 1. The fool's holiday. Google has jumped on the wagon for this year's shenanigans with a couple of new faux products that will (thankfully) never see the light of day.

Google Nose Beta allows you to conduct an internet search and smell your results. Not sure what a new car smells like? search it. Wondering what wet dog fur smells like? seach it. The promotional video walks you through the thoughts behind this revolutionary technology and what it means for the world of search sniffing. The jury is still out on this. We're not sure we'd want to be sniffing computers in public.
