Ruby Receptionists Video from Albert Nance on Vimeo.

Nice animated commercial for Ruby Receptionists, a virtual answering service based in Portland. The animation is simple, but so message appropriate and the voiceover actor sounds almost exactly like the voice you might have heard during one of those classic 50's training videos.

  • The Dollar Shave Club is Back Again

The Dollar Shave Club is back again with another spot featuring deadpan funny man and CEO, Michael Dubin. This time the Dubin is pimping the DSC's first non-shave product: flushable toilet wipes for men. The humorous, extremely dry delivery style of the video is everybit as unique as the first commercial for the monthly shave club. Wait? Haven't seen the first one? Well, we've included that one too. The initial video went viral and had several of the larger players, including Time, Ad Week and Fast Company standing up to take notice. Credits for the new commercial are featured after the jump.

Jason Stack - Time-Lapse Reel 2013 from Jason Stack on Vimeo.

Local filmmaker, Jason Stack, has just dropped this reel showcasing some of the time lapse video he's taken over the course of the last year. The compilation showcases work from all over the West Coast which looks amazing, but he's got some really gorgeous, unique shots from around Portland — putting places like Union Station and the million dollar toilet in the gorge in a new light.

The production of the film great, and the profile talks about industrial design, Han's career and shows some of the work that He is currently producing. The short documentary was produced by Dutch filmmaker, Ismael Lotz. We love industrial design and would love to see more short films featuring the work they're doing.

Cartoon Network - Summer Ident FULL from eamonn o neill on Vimeo.

Cartoon Network rallied together a group of world class illustrators, gave them four colors to work with, 10 seconds of music and access to the huge number of characters from CN's massive library of shows. The task was simply to animate and apply their own signature style to their snippet. The finished pieces were then stitched together into a summer ident for the animation channel. The resulting spot is unbelievably fun and diverse and to us represents a small part of why Cartoon Network is still one of the best networks on television today.

  • George R.R. Martin Discusses Game of Thrones' Red Wedding

    / Comments (0)

In case you didn't catch Conan last night, Game of Thrones author, George R.R. Martin was on talking about the absolutely shocking Red Wedding scene from last week's episode of the show. They then showed a quick clip of some of the reactions to the scene , which was completely unexpected (unless you had already read the books). It was crazy, and yet, good to know that other viewers jumping up and down and freaking out as much as we did.

  • Coca-Cola Develops Soda Bottle Made Completely of Ice

Coca-Cola always seems to be pushing the boundaries of their brand. We recently showed their new splittable can design which is being targeted to specific markets. They have one-upped themselves by developing a soda bottle made completely of ice. The bottle is only available in Columbia as part of a special promotion as the country is heading into their extremely hot summer season, but what a great idea. The commercial, which is in Spanish, gives a good sense of the new packaging, and while critics are quick to point out possible hygenic issues, it definitely looks like a good time.

Bruton Stroube // Slo-mo Booth Supercut from Bruton Stroube Studios on Vimeo.

Our sister site, the St. Louis Egotist, recently held its latest installment in the Kegs with Legs series in which the Egotist hosts a traveling happy hour get together for the creative community at different studios around the area. It's big fun, and as you will see by this video from the Phantom slo-mo photo booth at the event, a bit messy.

The photo booth was supplied by Bruton Stroube and captured an amazing array of hijinks at 1500fps which was then edited down into this supercut. The video was almost immediately picked up as a staff favorite on Vimeo. Awesome!

We have yet to bring the Kegs with Legs series to Portland, but after seeing this we might like to get that rolling.
