A large portion of the TV viewing population now watches at least two screens whenever the television is on. Tablets and phones have become especially important during global events and live sports.

Starling is one of the companies taking advantage of that and creating ways for people to easily connect via computers and mobile devices while watching television.

The company is named after the birds which flock together. One of the company's founders, Kevin Slavin, says he hopes his product can do for specific media what Foursquare has done for specific places.
