Mortal Kombat: Paul Rand vs. Steve Jobs

In Walter Isaacson's biography of Steve Jobs. He talks about his work relationship with Paul Rand during the time he created the Next identity. Jobs wanted more options and Rand didn't do options. Plus it would cost $100,000 in 1986.

According to Creative Review Paul Rand told Jobs, "I will solve your problem and you will pay me...You can use what I produce or not, but I will not do options, and either way you will pay me."

Do you have the guts to tell the client that? Now they're probably up in heaven hatching a new plan.
