On the first day of grade school art class, my teacher began class by drawing two symbols on the board: a top hat and a music note. She then turned to the class to address our young eager faces and said, “Hello, my name is Ms. Hattoon.” I have always been a visual learner, and this example of visual communication resonated in my mind. It has stuck with me as my first example of creative and effective visual communication.
I am an inspired, driven, design student fresh out of undergraduate studies. I received my Bachelor of Arts in graphic design from the University of Wyoming. I am inspired by conceptual, intelligent, and innovative design. Visual communication can be extremely complex or very simple; nonetheless design must resonate and connect with the audience.

Erin
Hi. I'm a graphic designer based in Pittsburgh, PA looking to move out west to the hipster mecca of Portland. I've even been working on growing out an ironic mustache. I have a strong background in art history, which means most of my graphic work looks like something Michelangelo would've painted.... maybe not but it has definitely influenced my knowledge and understanding of art. I specialize mainly in print, but have been branching out to web design as well.

I like to say I’m a thoughtful designer. And I believe design works best when clear outcomes are defined up front.
I work quickly to understand a project’s desired outcome. I use pencil sketches, mood boards and research to develop creative concepts that make an audience take notice. I strive to design projects that communicate clearly, adhere to a brand’s guidelines + established or desired tone, and that ultimately meet a client’s objectives in terms of budget, schedule and outcomes.
If this is what you are looking for in an experienced designer who excels in an agency setting, we should probably talk. Coffee or beer – your choice.

Patrick McAffrey
My name is Patrick Munro McAffrey, and I am a recent graduate of the University of Oregon’s Bachelor of Architecture Program. I was born and raised in Denver, Colorado, and for the first five years of my young adult life, I lived in Eugene, Oregon. Eugene is a dirty, pretty place full of eccentricities: ferns, jean shorts, patchouli, football, and a completely eclectic lifestyle that is unlike anything I’ve ever been apart of before or since. When I was 23, I moved to Portland. I came here to take my final architectural thesis studio and continue to absorb all that encompasses the Pacific Northwest of the United States. This place truly is the final frontier of our fine country; there are more dogs than children, there’s flannel and piercings and everyone fancies themselves to be a creative — including the homeless and myself. I graduated from college in June, I love it here, and am currently very excited about the next chapter of my career.
Patrick Nistler
Currently living in Portland, OR., I have been living and breathing graphic design for 13 years. I started my career in Minneapolis, MN at Hunt Adkins, an ad agency. Since then I have gone back to the ad world, working at BuderEngel & Friends, Venables Bell & Partners and Duncan/Channon. I am currently working at Sockeye here in Portland.

Design is my passion. I love what I do, and I hope people can see that in my work. My aim is twofold: to show people something extraordinary, that they've never seen before, or to show people something ordinary in an extraordinary way. Born in Colorado, I love the great outdoors. When I'm not designing I can be found hitting up our wonderful natural creation kayaking, hiking, skiing, waterskiing, camping, watching a baseball game, and various other things. I'm looking for a design job where I can pursue my passion and love for design in a place that I love.

EVERY PROJECT | EVERY CLIENT | NEEDS A VOICE | from concept to creation, from the choice of visuals to the crafting of words, it's about creating an impactful statement and having a voice – so whether you're a bistro, a bottle of wine, or a business – let's build that voice. | When you define the language of design & messaging effectively, your audience is seduced and makes for a lasting impression. That's when good design is good business. For now tho, let's start with a chat, then let's create something together that makes sense & seduces the senses... with your voice.
