Danklife Photo Illustration and Retouching
Danklife Photo Illustration and Retouching was started in Los Angeles during 2004 by Daniel Kopton. The name being based on a blog he ran since 2000 that was a play on his name "Dan K" and "Danke", being the german word for "Thanks". The studio specializes in photo illustration, retouching and photography for special effects. Currently based in Portland Oregon Danklife now has 5 full time staff who exploit a, "Work From Home Studio" workplace for all it's worth. Their monitor tans stand as proof to their dedication. Or at least that is what they keep telling themselves. The studio has a ChromaKey studio for greenscreen work, a full set of Paul Buff Einstein lights for high speed shooting, Profoto for normal shooting and 2 banks of DedoLights for product detail work.

They know what it is like to spend two weeks on a single celebrity image, going back and forth with managers, editors, and art buyers. We also know what it is like to work on mass produced campaign shoots, with 80 gigs shot in a day and hundreds of images needing custom retouching.
Danklife is now 9 years old as a independent studio but it's root goes back to the dark days of 92 when Dan first started working professionally. He can regale you with tales of Kreonite chem machines, Syquest disks, Mac Clones and unsharp filters that took 25 minutes to run.
