TypeCon Returns to PDX for 20th Year Event

By The Portland Egotist / /

Just a few years ago (2013) we reached out, penned a proposal, and worked closely with the (then) TypeCon planning committee to bring the national conference series to our fair city. Until that point, TypeCon had never been held in Portland and there was concern as to whether the city would be a strong enough draw to bring type aficionados from around the world to our small corner of the Pacific Northwest.  Of course, the event went off without a hitch and was massively supported by our big little city, spreading much type wonder locally and beyond.

We were excited to hear that TypeCon is returning to Portland, and celebrating the end of its second decade. The TypeCon franchise has been one of the major typographic events for a long time and always features a great (albeit heady) range of talks and workshops. If you consider yourself a player in the typographic arenas, then this is definitely an event you want to hit up. Typecon will be hitting PDX August 1-5, so jump over to their site and grab some tix for this conference week.
