By The Portland Egotist / / A few years ago the animation super power LAIKA was kind enough to invite us to their campus to take a look at their workspaces and for a sneak peek of The Boxtrolls film, which at the time was still in production. The creativity of their space was truly overwhelming. To be ushered through tens of thousands of square feet of pure imagination was both an exhilarating and powerful experience. One we would love to repeat at some point in our lives once again. Until then you can get a sense of that wonder on a smaller scale for the next month as The Portland Art Museum (PAM) presents Animating Life, The Art, Science, and Wonder of LAIKA. The exhibit takes the world of LAIKA and brings it to the masses in a smaller scale. The collection features a variety of work, sketches and other design artifacts arranged to immerse you in the imagination of what is perhaps the best animation studio out there today. Animating Life will be at PAM until May of next year. Be sure to take the time to be a part of this wonderful and special exhibit.
