Manifold Helps Uber Build Larger-Than-Life Car Radio Stage to Showcase Austin Uber Drivers / Musicians

Uber believes that movement ignites opportunity. What better way to provide opportunity to local Austin musicians (who also drive on the Uber platform) than to invite them to play their original music live on stage during one of the country’s largest music festivals.

Each day of the music festival (which was held in early October), music fans were invited to join the experience at Uber Radio Live, a fully interactive live music activation featuring a stage re-imagined as a larger-than-life car radio—blown up to maximum proportions. Before and after special pop-up performances by local artists, fans were able to control the playlist performed by a live cover band and hear their songs “arriving now”.

To gear up for this campaign, Uber tasked Portland-based experiential agency Manifold to create a sharable activation experience that would connect some of the music that Uber riders love most, with their passion for live music. Manifold worked with Uber on all aspects of the Uber Radio Live stage from strategy, from strategy to fabrication.
